I've been getting a few questions about when/how to apply for student rep positions to the faculty committees (Admissions, Building, Clinical Education, Curriculum, Disciplinary Appeals, Faculty Appointments, Financial Aid). As you (hopefully) know, we've opened the process for Faculty Appointments, primarily because their work starts so much earlier than the other committees.
However, we will have a call for applications for other representative positions, also, closer to the beginning of the semester. Here is our timeline:
Aug. 10: Call for applications to returning students.
Aug. 24: Call for applications to all students (new and returning).
Aug. 28: First deadline for continuing student applicants.
Sept. 7: Deadline for all applicants.
Sept. 11-13: Applicant interviews.
Sept. 14: Finalists and alternates notified of appointment.
Sept. 16 or 17: Orientation for all student committee representatives.
Some of these dates (e.g., the student rep training) are subject to change based on schedule demands, etc. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to shoot me an email!
