Golden State Warriors Case Competition
The Golden State Warriors Case Competition will ask teams of Haas MBA students to address one of three prompts:
1. How can the Warriors utilize their social media assets to maximize sponsorship revenue? Create a unique social media campaign and explain how it works, who it targets, what makes it successful and how it can be tracked to provide quantifiable results.
2. The Warriors have some of the strongest female demographics in the NBA, with over 40% female attendees. Create a sponsorship promotion that effectively reaches female consumers. Feel free to use a consumer product, brand, community group or cause as an example.
3. The NBA is rapidly expanding in China and in other international markets. It’s also important to point out that Asians make up 18% of all Warriors fans (attendees, television viewers, radio listeners) and that the Warriors fan is 34% more likely than the average San Francisco Bay Area adult to be Asian. Create a dynamic sponsorship package designed to target and engage Asian fans locally and internationally.
The first round of submissions will consist of a one to two page executive summary to be reviewed by the Warriors. Five teams will be selected to present to a panel of judges from the Warriors organization.
Rules of the Competition
What’s the team size? 2 to 4 students.
Is there a limit to the registration? There is no limit to the number of teams competing. Interested teams are required to sign-up by February 7, 2011, by contacting rahul_bijor AT mba.
How is this going to work? The competition will be divided into two rounds:
Submission Round: All to submit a one to two page executive summary response to one of the case prompts. Any format is acceptable and word count is flexible, while brevity and creativity are highly encouraged. The Warriors will select five finalists.
Final Round: Five finalist teams to present their response to a panel of judges from the Golden State Warriors. Format is flexible, with each team given a maximum of 20 minutes – 10 minutes to present and another 10 minutes for Q&A from the judges. The final round will be held at Haas, Oracle Arena, or the Warriors HQ (TBD), and will be open to the public.
